Most herbs prefer full sun and rich, well drained soil.  Water when necessary, but do not over water. Transplant after all danger of frost is past. Herbs do well in containers, which makes it easier to bring them inside during cold weather.



ALPINE  BASIL (Acinos alpinus) - Perennial. Also called Rock Thyme, Alpine Calamint. Used as a condiment, brewed as tea and sometimes used as a fever reducer.

ARNICA, MOUNTAIN - (Arnica montana) - Perennial.

ASHWAGANDHA (Withania somnifera) - Annual.


BASIL - Annual. Pinch off flower buds when they appear to keep the plant bushy. Varieties available (some in limited quantities): Amazonian, Bush, Dark Opal, Fino Verde, Green Pepper, Holy (Tulsi), Lemon, Lettuce Leaf, Lime, Malawi Camphor, Mammoth, Persian, Pistou, Purple Ruffles, Purple Tulsi (Krishna), Spicy Globe, Sweet, Sweet Thai, Tree, Tulsi Kapoor

BORAGE (Borago officinalis) - Annual; offered in blue or white flowering forms.








CATNIP - Perennial. A member of the mint family that your cat will love either fresh or dried.

LOVAGE (Levisticum officinale) - Perennial. Tastes (and smells) very similar to celery. It is very impressive at 4-6 feel tall.

MILK THISTLE (Silybum marianum) - Annual.

MOUNTAIN MINT (Pycnanthemum virginiana) - Perennial.

ONION, EGYPTIAN WALKING (Allium cepa proliferum) - Perennial. Bulblets form on top of the green stems and eventually become heavy enough to bend down to the ground where they form roots and new plants (hence 'Walking'). Every part of this plant is edible.
